This one is set in my stomping grounds. I’ve read part of it, and it’s goooood. If you like Zane Grey, Louis L’Amour, and other great Western writers, it’s one for you.

Not just this book, but all four of them, are great.
Well researched and written, with solid characters characters, locations, and historical circumstances.
The series starts in the disrupted South at the end ofvthe Civil War, and extends into the early West.
The narrative pays more attention to the economic history of the times than most Westerns, but this adds to, rather than detracts from, the stories.
I guess you can see that I like them.
