Yes, school has begun.
In-service has been survived . . .

Scene after the two-hour session on “New Developments in Educational Psychology and Trends in Pedagogical Techniques for the Adolescent Learner in School.”
Schedule difficulties have been sorted out . . . mostly.

Hmm, yes, you cannot be in 4th period math and 4th period theater both during 4th period. We’ll put you in 6th period geography instead.
And the Usual Suspects went through the lab computers and put flowers and happy faces as the desktop images . . .

But, but Sr. Mary Torquemada, why do you think I’m the one who replaced the school motto with Felis Et Fortis?
And grading starts tonight . . .
Dang they really are getting closer to year around schools aren’t they? Back when I was started school it started around the first of October, by the time I graduated it was starting the third or fourth week of September. Now it starts in August.
And it isn’t because it they are getting out earlier, either.
We started in either late August in Ohio or first of September in Cal during the 70 – 80’s.
Never took latin, only picked up a few words here and there.
I know Felis = cat.
Fortis .. .. = strong? (looks/sounds similar to Fortissimo, which I remember from Chorus as “strongly / with strength” or volume) [odd how much I remember from 35 years ago.]
Felis Et Fortis = Strength of a cat? Strong as a Cat?
Really bad, mis-conjugated Latin for “Cat and strength”. Fides [faith] et Fortes [strength] is the motto of a school I used to live near.
_chuckle_ I like it.
Feel for ya… Glad I’m not having to deal with that… Try to keep your sanity!
Funny cat pictures are the true raison d’etre of the internet. Good luck on the new school year. May it be as painless as possible.
The first two weeks are easy. Then comes the first major test, followed by . . . Parents’ Night. *cue foreboding musical tag here*
